Hunting & Fishing

One of the richest attributes of Holmes County is our natural resources. Conservation runs deep in the roots of our county and our abundance of natural resources are at the heart of that. Freshwater fishing, private and public land hunting, birding, hiking, and water sports are just a few of the outdoor activities that draw people from around the world to our piece of unexplored Florida.

Freshwater Fishing

Ponce de Leon Spring State Park allows fishing in non-swimming areas. With water so clear, you can watch the fish swim right up to your bait!

Whether you hunt archery, black powder or rifle the opportunities are endless. Both private land leases exist across Holmes County, and public hunting access is also available in the Choctawhatchee WMA.
